Astronomical telescope optical cryostats
HPD is developing an advanced radio frequency cryogenic system for the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory telescope array on Mauna Kea in Hawai’i. HPD’s expertise in low temperature cryogenics, precision mechanisms, ultra high vacuum, controls and stable, precise opto-mechanical instruments are all being applied to this project to help enable SAO to keep pushing the envelope on astrophysics observations.
